Sunday Church School
Meets every Sunday, from St Michael and All Angels Sunday (the last Sunday in September), until Trinity Sunday (around the beginning of June). The School includes Nursery through Grade Six.
Children attend the beginning of church each Sunday with their families, until the beginning of the Word part of the service. After the Pastor's "Time With the Children,"
they go downstairs for time with their teachers, then return upstairs on Communion Sundays
to receive Communion or a blessing.
The Church School staff are well-prepared, and follow the
"Walk With Me: Faithful, Friendly, Fun" curriculum.
Nursery is always professionally staffed.
For more information, call Pastor Darlyne (519-483-3100)

"Children are a heritage from the Lord ..." Psalm 127.4
We enjoy children at St Mark's, and we take them seriously. They're much more than "cute" to us-- they are indeed a gift from the Lord, to be raised according to the Baptismal Promises--
• to live among God's faithful people,
• to join in Lord's Day worship,
• to learn the Lord's Pray, Ten Commandments, Apostles' Creed,
• to cultivate a life of prayer,
• to proclaim Christ through word and deed, caring for others and the world God makes, and working for justice and peace.
Our Sunday Church School gathers weekly after the beginning of worship, and returns for communion at the end of the service. The Walk With Me curriculum provides a Biblical foundation for Confirmation/Affirmation of Faith Classes. These begin during the sixth grade, and continue on through the first two years of high school. Junior confirmation classes centre around a group reading of the Bible, from Genesis through Revelation, with additional attention to the Lord's Prayer, and worship as it is practised at St Mark's. Senior confirmation concentrates on the Ten Commandments and the Creeds, the global varieties of Christian worship, encouraging responsible, regular participation in the congregation's life, and creating a personal Rule of Life, using Luther's Shorter Catechism as a model.
As it becomes appropriate,
we encourage all our children and adolescents to undertake the work of worship and church life in general. St Mark's children and teenagers are acolytes, readers, communion assistants, members of committees, church school assistants, ushers. We believe that in the Church, once you're baptised, you're a full member of the Body of Christ, with all the attending rights, privileges and responsibilities; that in Christ, the distinction between "adult" and "child" isn't rigid; and that honest work in the congregation builds the foundation of a lively faith and lifelong commitment to the practice of it.
